ADD 4: The Media, the Meds, Madness and Metabolism

Updated audio, only 15 min, I will be much more active with this podcast, have organized the programs, but won't get started on regular programming until May.

Thanks for hanging in there, video is next.

Metabolism is often overlooked as a variable in the treatment of ADD/ADHD.

Missing this important dimension will be associated with meds that simply don't work or become toxic at low doses. Stimulant meds don't correct primary metabolic states. See my 2 recent posts over at CorePsychBlog for more on adrenal fatigue, a common metabolic issue in adults.

This program discusses very basic questions we should ask at every first interview for any psychiatric condition, as most meds come up through the gastrointestinal [GI] wall and through the liver. You may think the brain sits on top of your body, but, functionally speaking, your body sits upstream of your brain.
